Not only was it a major hassle, but it was a terrible waste of time. Who cares if he was born on that specific day? All he was doing is getting a step closer to… what?

Death? Even more responsibility?

He wasn't entirely sure himself, but he was settled on the mindset of not enjoying his birthday. He accepted the greetings, the small gifts from friends, the pat on the backs, the ribbing of his lack of love interest, and the list goes on. The TypewriterThe Typewriter

It began and ended with a word.
Not a particularly strong or powerful word, but a word that changed everything. It wasn't too long or difficult to spell. It wasn't uncommon either. In fact, it was a perfectly ordinary word, but, I suppose, its commonplace origin is what made it so special.
I loved that word.
But the word doesn't mean much without the story along with it and I was always one for telling good stories.
